I joined Stand up for Mental Health as a form of therapy
and to "edutain" people about mental illness. Being
bi-polar means I've had many ups and downs. My dad was a Champ
pro boxer and with the essence of his spirit my brother Jason
gave me some touching advice, he said, " be like Dad,
and the bottom line is - if you get knocked down 900 times
- just get back up!" Some worthy advice for anyone fighting
from an illness.
Paul Decarie,
B.C.
Paul has worked for many years doing community theatre in
the Lower Mainland. He did stand up in I love The DTES, a
show he was in in 2002. Paul has thouroughly enjoyed Stand
Up For Mental Health and hopes to continue doing stand up
comedy after the course is over.
